Black Maus
Black Egyptian Maus are very rare. They can be found occasionally in bronze breeding programs or in programs that do not color breed. Our first came to us recently. Two of our kids decided to take matters into their own paws while we were on vacation. It was not a breeding I wanted to do as I knew the female was a bronze carrying smoke (black) as they say. Well she helped herself to one of our sweet boys that I was unaware carried the same thing as she. So here is what a black looks like! They do have ghost markings and can be easily mistaken for really dark smokes. Genetically this can only be a black as bronze and blacks are the only products you get in a bronze color breeding program. Here are pictures of him from the day of birth. I am hoping to get more shortly that show his ghost pattern better. He has a very busy pattern that is masked by the black coat. You can see the mascara lines, leg lines and if the light shines just right you can see his pattern!

You can vaguely see the pattern showing through!

Look at those tiny spots all over his back.
