Kitten Contract
This is an agreement for the sale of a Bronze Egyptian Mau female known as Mauraj ? born 4/17/07 to Mauraj Tiny Maat (dam), CFA registration # 0845- and CH Mauraj Apophis of (Sire), CFA registration # 0844- as a Pet_X__ Premiership____ quality cat.
At the time of purchase, your kitten appears to be in good health. It is recommended that you take the kitten to your veterinarian for a health examination within the first two working days, although due to stress involved with a new home, etc, it is not recommended that you give any vaccinations. It is fully understood and acknowledged between both parties that no long-range guarantee can be offered due to the varying conditions in the cat's new home environment.
The condition of this sale are set forth as follows:
1-Buyer accepts the responsibility of caring for this kitten and providing properly for his welfare, following Seller's instructions on care, treatment, housing, and diet. The proper weight for this animal should be between 7 and 11 pounds. Obesity can cause health problems in some lines of the Egyptian Mau.
2-Buyer agrees that this kitten will always receive prompt, top-notch medical care including regular inoculations as recommended by a qualified veterinarian.
3-Buyer agrees to provide companionship for this kitten, never leaving him alone for long periods of time without human attention.
4-Buyer agrees never to allow this kitten/cat outdoors while unattended.
5-Buyer agrees that this kitten/cat will never be sold, leased, given to any research laboratory, pet shop, animal shelter, or similar facility.
6-If this kitten has been purchased as a breeding quality cat no kittens should be found in PET STORES with in 3 generations of said cat. If so the owner of cat found in pedigree will receive a $10,000.00 fine and will pay all court cost associated with said incident.
7-Buyer agrees that this kitten/cat will not be declawed.
8-Seller to provide papers & pedigree upon receipt from CFA .
9- This kitten was inoculated with the following prior to delivery:
9 weeks 6/12/07 Pfiser Felocell 3 (Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Feline Pan Leukopenia)
12 weeks 7/3/07 Pfiser Felocell 3 (Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calici, Feline Pan Leukopenia)
7/24/07 Rabies
10- Seller guarantees the cat/kitten is FeLV and FIV negative at the time of purchase. Buyer is required to have a licensed veterinarian examine the kitten within two working days of delivery in order for this guarantee to apply. Some water supplies may contain giardia or other organisms that may pose a risk for your kitten or cat. In no case will Mauraj be held responsible for medical expenses related to this kitten. Veterinary costs are not refundable.
If a licensed veterinarian finds a life threatening genetic defect, within one year of date of sale, seller agrees to provide a kitten of Mauraj Cattery's choice from the next litter (Buyer will be responsible for any additional shipping charges.), not a refund. Any incurred vet bills are Purchasers' responsibility.
The kitten will be replaced only if the following applies or is done:
a. If this kitten/cat dies within the first year of a genetic defect and that said defect is evidenced in an autopsy report presented to Seller.
b. Autopsy must be completed within 24 hours and kitten/cat can only be refrigerated prior to said autopsy NOT frozen.
c. Buyer accepts all medical costs associated with kitten/cat, and all costs associated with such report.
d. The Buyer contacts Seller promptly upon initial knowledge of a major health issue.
This cattery highly recommends that you do not give this kitten/cat the FIP vaccination as it may prove to be detrimental to the health of the animal. Genetic/health guarantee, either expressed or implied is void if kitten is inoculated with the FIP or FeLV vaccination. Seller agrees to provide a one year health guarantee from the date of sell against genetic defects
11-Seller requests that the Buyer isolate the new cat/kitten from their other cats & kittens for a minimum of one week: preferably two weeks. New kittens may show signs of stress including, but not limited to, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea and/or constipation. These effects can be minimized by feeding the identical food as served by the Seller, slowly mixing bottled water with your tap water, and overall taking measures to reduce stress during the integration period.
12-Show clause: kitten may be shown in Kitten and/or Premiership class only if desired by the owner. There is no show requirement.
13- Buyer agrees that if any of the above terms are disregarded that the Seller may reclaim this cat without a refund of purchase price. Buyer further agrees that if item 5 is disregarded, that Buyer must pay an additional $1000.00 in damages to Seller, and Seller may also reclaim this kitten without a refund. Buyer agrees to pay all court costs if this contract is litigated, and that any suit shall be tried in the Maricopa, Arizona area under Arizona law.
